Course Objective

This course developed by 21 Academy will give thorough knowledge of principles of payroll and related employment law and data privacy implications. Participants will be trained on how to apply their knowledge in practice by being shown how to successfully adhere to payroll requirements under law. They will also find themselves adequately competent to recognise issues which may arise in any payroll process, how to tackle it, and what related legislation may apply or must otherwise be adhered to

Training will be provided through 10 lectures of 2.5 hours each, held online. The course will be interactive, where participants are free to ask questions, discuss and share ideas or experiences.

Learning Outcomes

  • Clearly comprehend instructions regarding what sort of research or work would be necessary for them to carry out;
  • Compile findings and conclusions in a clear and concise manner which can be easily comprehended by their superiors;
  • Explain with clarity and attention to detail findings and conclusions orally if so required, and express these in a professional and agreeable manner
  • Conduct independent research on law, jurisprudence, and other sources as required;
  • Understand the wording of Maltese (and foreign) legislation and be able to apply jurisprudential interpretation thereto;
  • Recognise issues which arise at law;
  • Advance knowledge further in an independent manner.

Entry Requirements

2 Advanced level subjects at Grade C or better, and 3 Intermediate level subjects at Grade C or better. 1 of any of these subjects must be Maltese or English

OR

3 Advanced level subjects at Grade C or better

OR Mature/Adult Learning Student (must be 23 when course starts) subject to an interview by the Head of the Academy.
