Course Objective

The course aims to introduce students to the science of digital marketing and its importance for business success. Students will be exposed to the strengths of digital marketing vs traditional marketing.

They will understand how to plan and execute high-impact, results-oriented digital marketing campaigns. Participants will gain an understanding of how to select and employ the most appropriate digital tools, including email marketing, social media marketing, and search engine marketing, to communicate with their intended audience.

Among other things, students will also gain knowledge on how to:

  • Share knowledge of digital marketing and its benefits to businesses.
  • Lay out the steps for creating an effective online advertising strategy.
  • Recognise and describe a number of internet advertising strategies.
  • Use different CRM platforms for sending out promotional emails.
  • Use an online poll.
  • Learn the ins and outs of creating an email marketing list and sending out an effective marketing message.
  • Show how to make and control ads on social media.
  • Explain the fundamentals of the most popular social media sites.
  • Understand corporate social media advertising.

Students will find themselves prepared to face the realm of communications that is increasingly dependent on the digital engagement between social actors in everyday markets.

Students who successfully complete the study programme will also be competent in copyright ethics, ability to create digital content and utilise editing tools to create, edit, and manipulate that content.

Entry Requirements

2 Advanced level subjects at Grade C or better, and 3 Intermediate level subjects at Grade C or better. 1 of any of these subjects must be Maltese or English

OR Mature/Adult Learning Student (must be 23 when course starts) subject to an interview by the Head of the Academy.
